Once again the L6th travelled to Aberfeldy for a weekend of sharing ideas.
Last weekend we had our annual Lower 6 Art Trip to Aberfeldy, it was a great start to the term. After a weekend of Noticing, Arranging, Surveying and looking Close Up we are ready to begin our projects back at school.
Wow its January already!
We have been very busy since October, with Halloween and fireworks themes in Life Class, our exam AS exam session and an IB mid year exhibition…
HALF TERM LONDON ART AND ART HISTORY TRIP!!
During half term a group of L6th students headed to London on an Art and Art History trip.
First stop was the National Gallery where Mr Hughes led an excellent tour giving us a new understanding of the development of Art Historical movements.
We spent the next morning visiting street markets and journeying through the city. We embarked on a photography and sketchbook competition, gathering inspiration and ideas from the people and the city of London itself. Sunday afternoon was spent at Frieze Art fair, where we were exposed to contemporary art on a vast and exciting scale.
During our final day in London we managed to visit the exhibitions at Tate Modern and become involved in an interactive performance piece by artist Tino Sehgal. A thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all, and we have come back to school enthused by what we have seen – with the hope that we can bring some of that to our Art projects.
We were lucky enough to get to visit a James Turell Skyspace!
Inspired by this, we have returned to the classroom where we are now developing our individual projects around the theme ‘Sense of Place’.
